SpaceLab was selected asbecame one of the three winners of the GCIP-Kazakhstan 2025 acceleration program, receiving a grantprize ofin the amount of 5,000,000 tenge for its innovative IoVIT (Internet-of-Very-Important-Things) satellite–ground monitoring system. GCIP is the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The program supports companies developing solutions that reduce environmental risks, improve energy efficiency, and create “green” jobs. This year, ten cleantech projects reached the final stage, presenting mature engineering solutions for Kazakhstan’s environmental and infrastructure challenges. Among them was SpaceLab’s IoVIT system, which integrates IoT sensors, satellite connectivity, and intelligent analytics for early detection, monitoring, and prevention of natural and industrial hazards. This year, the program brought together 50 startups working on clean technology solutions. 10 cleantech projects with mature engineering developments for Kazakhstan’s environmental and infrastructure challenges advanced to the final. Among them was SpaceLab’s IoVIT system, which combines IoT sensors, satellite communication, and AI analytics to enable early detection, monitoring, and prevention of natural and industrial hazards. The final project evaluations took place at the National Cleantech Forum, where an independent commission assessed technological readiness, scalability, and environmental impact. Based on these evaluations, SpaceLab became one of the three winners of the program and received grant support of was granted 5,000,000 tenge. The allocated fundings will accelerate the deployment of IoVIT infrastructure, expand pilot projects across Kazakhstan and foreign markets, and strengthen the development of satellite technologies, industrial sensors, and risk-warning systems.
